No More Future-Future Son-In-Law

Well, this weekend brought about a change. I no longer have a Future-future son-in-law. This is not a sad change. I am not sad at all at no longer having a future-future son-in-law (ff sil). It was time. This was inevitable. There is no sadness over losing such a wonderful ff-sil. I loved him dearly, like one of my own but the time had come I guess. This was a decision made between beautiful, head-strong daughter and wonderful ff-sil. It was not mine to make but I do agree with their decision. It was the only option available to them at the time and they made the decision with much thought and love.

!!!!!THEY ARE ENGAGED!!!!!

I no longer have a ff-sil! He has graduated to Future Son-In-Law!! I'm so happy for them both. I know he adores her and she adores him. They are made for each other. I was so excited when he asked me permission to ask her. We all knew I wouldn't say no because he's a great guy and she loves him more than anything. I can't even express how happy I am.

Now according to beautiful head-strong daughter there are steps to follow in this situation.
Step 1: Graduate from University
Which she does next month and already has a job lined up with a generous sign-on bonus!
Step 2: Move home.
Yes! They are moving home! They didn't live too far away and they did come home almost every weekend with their cat, my grandcat, Sassy in tow but still it will be so much nicer to have them closer. Of course we will have to plan play dates with Sophie and Sassy when they move home because Sophie will really miss Sassy's weekend visits. lol
Step 3: Wedding
They plan to wait a year before getting married and that's alright by me. Just because they are engaged doesn't mean they have to marry right now. I'm ok with this.
Step 4: Children
Yah Hooooooo!!!! I can't wait!!!! All I want to be when I grow up is a Gramma!!! Ok so I have to wait a few more years...that's ok...I can do that...I hope. LOL

Now wonderful Future Son-in-Law has a different agenda.
Step 1: Marry tomorrow
Yep, he's been ready to marry her for two years now but he's bowed down to her agenda.
Step 2: Tons of kids!
He's been ready to start a family for a while. HIS biological clock is ticking and he would love to have a family as soon as yesterday! LOL

I kinda like his agenda better. It means I'm a gramma so much sooner but beautiful, head-strong daughter will do things at her own speed and no one will be able to change her mind and that's a good thing! Truth is, although I tease her alot about grandbabies etc., I am very proud of her for finishing her school and getting a career before she married and had children.

I'm sure you can all see how happy I am about all this. My entire family is happy about this. I am so blessed.

I wish you all enough.

hmmm, I kinda like future son in law.

My younger son is dating his freshman girlfriend agai...I mean when they were freshmen they dated. Now he's graduating next month and she got pushed back a year because, truthfully, she had a baby. But she went back to school and I know that if she and my son get serious...I will have a grandbaby! Cause I said so. Cause that's how we are in our family...there are no step's.

And yes, she's one of those that should he go to Iraq, I'd be grateful for her. She loved Jeremy with all her heart when he broke up with her the summer between their freshman and sophomore years. Maybe they are meant to be together now. They are going to prom in two weeks and I'm sure he's inviting her to his graduation. :)

That was really something for her to continue her education after the baby! Smart girl!
In our family there are no steps or half anything...cause I said so too! We are all just one big family whether they like it or not! LOL

Maybe they are meant to be and the timing is better now than it was previously. It would be cool to have a grandbaby eh? LOL
